Self-taught artist of abstract works. Went to school at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in San Francisco and Los Angeles, California. I graduated with an AA degree in Visual Communications. I’m a lover of all forms of art and have a great appreciation for colors, textures and movement. Most of my inspiration comes from travel and personal life experiences. I’ve lived all across the US in Arkansas, California, Oklahoma, Montana, Hawaii, Florida, New York and Colorado. I currently live in Colorado Springs, Colorado with my husband and our son Cooper.
The medium I use for my abstract art is Oil Paint. I mix my own paint to create unique colors, and I use a lot of it to create my thick textures. I paint standing over my canvases on the ground and use cut, wood boards and putty knife sets to help me create my original art. All my oil paintings are originals.
When I was at school at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, FIDM, I fell in love with fashion trend boards. The combining of colors, textures and inspiration on one surface to create a beautiful pallet really struck with me. I created a lot of design, visual boards at FIDM and loved the arrangement and visuals, creating a well balanced form. All my years of work experience in retail doing merchandising and visuals really helped fine tune my sense of organizing color and different thicknesses and textures to create a certain feel and mood. My inspiration comes from My world travels, family, nature, feelings, emotions, music, movement, design, architecture, photography, colors, textures, life experiences & people.
